The following processes must be completed in full before a potential new member can be admitted and or go before the Membership Committee and Board of Management.
Proposer and Seconder
All Applicants must be nominated by a Proposer and Seconder who are full members (Senior, Permanent Financial or Life) of Fremantle Sailing Club and must provide a meaningful written reference to support the Applicant.
Membership Application
Membership closure occurs on the first Monday of each month. Applications received after this date will be held over until the next month. All applicable fees must be received with the application and the form completed and correct before it can be considered.
Board of Management Meeting
Membership applications are considered for approval by the Membership Committee and then at the Board of Management meeting conducted on the last Tuesday of each month. Applicants not approved for membership are informed in writing and all fees paid are refunded.
Membership Induction
Approved applicants are required to attend an induction evening. Proposers must attend the induction evening if nominating a Probationary Senior member. At this meeting you will receive an information package, gate security key, parking stickers and a copy of the Club’s book, ‘Sailing to Success’. Induction evenings are held on the first Wednesday of the each month. Any applicant unable to attend their scheduled Induction must attend the next Induction. A failure to attend 3 consecutive inductions will result in cancellation of the application for membership and all fees paid are refunded.
Probationary Requirements
New Probationary members are required to participate in a range of Club activities, accruing a minimum of 20 points within 12 months of joining. Should you complete your Probationary requirements before then, so much the better, but the minimum period is six months.
Accumulate 20 points over the twelve months and progress to Senior Membership.
In order to qualify, you must satisfy the following requirements:
A Club activity is any event or meeting organised by any section of the Club or by the Club itself.
A water based event would be any race, including JAM and Twilight, any organised Cruise or Power Yacht event, any Angling, Game Fishing or Dive section outing or on water clinic, or any duty on a start boat.
