NEXT MONTHLY MEETING

THURSDAY 13 OCTOBER AT 7:30PM

All are welcome to meet in the Sailors Bar for drinks at 6:00pm then enjoy a meal in the Galley at 6:30pm prior to the meeting

POWER SECTION ON THE NET

We are trialing the use of technology to provide a greater level of communication with our members. We have created an account for the Power Section of the Fremantle Sailing Club. In this account we have produced a Calendar to show Meetings, Activities of both the Power Section and other Section and some key general Club Events. Please have a look and save it to your favorites.

FSC Power Yacht Section Calendar

We are also able to upload and share pictures and documents. At this stage we have uploaded the flyers for upcoming events as shared documents. We have attempted to set it up such that if you click on the pictures of the flyers (below) it should open a larger PDF version of the flyer.

Fingers crossed this technology works. If it doesn’t, please be gentle with your comments by sending them to hewal@westnet.com.au and we will try again.

AFL GRAND FINAL AT MANGLES BAY FISHING CLUB

SATURDAY 1 OCTOBER

An invitation has been extended to us from Gary O’Brien, Rear Commodore Power, Perth Flying Squadron to join them at Mangles Bay Fishing Club to watch the AFL Grand Final.

Hopefully we can watch someone beat Collingwood, even if that meant it had to be the Eagles.

Following on from the Main Event there will be live music on the lawn area.

There is a cost of $10 per head to cover the band fees.

Moorings are at a premium but anchorage is fine in that area. Alternatively, you can always try and entice someone you know who has a mooring in the area to allow you to use it.

The following day is The Cruising Yacht Club (TCYC) Opening Day where we could join in and participate in the sail past with our Club burgees displayed.

FLARE AND FIRE EXTINGUISHER INFORMATION EVENING

THURSDAY 20 OCTOBER 2011

The Cruising Section is hosting a Flares and Fire Extinguisher Information evening which is open to all FSC Members. The presentation, including a live demonstration, will be run by the Fremantle Sea Rescue. It will be a great opportunity to see a demonstration for the first time or refresh those skills. Hopefully we will never need them but it is better to be prepared.
