The Course

The race is 4 laps of the course: Marks 1,2,3,4,5 – 1,2,3,4,5 – 1,2,3,4,5 & 1,2,3,4,6. Racing yachts will set spinnakers or “kites”, jibe, tack and reach with and into the wind, often made difficult by wind shadows of the port infrastructure as well as harbour traffic.

All yachts are bound by the current “Racing Rules of Sailing” which denotes what manoeuvres / tactics they can or cannot do to ensure safety on the water.
