Roland Smith Offshore Race

The 80 mile race to start the Rottnest Express Blue Water Series Championship and the first of the Siska Trophy races started with a forecast that we would see the race record intact for this year. The forecast of light breeze held together better than expected for the most part and for some it was disaster. The rains were true to forecast.

Additional SSSC being Run!

To accommodate the Geraldton / Dirk Hartog event we are looking for intrested persons who need SSSC training. Available date is October 8th and 9th.

Course will be run through ORWA.

We require at least 7 participants and need to know by Friday 23rd.

Entries are in and this weekend we look towards the Roland Smith Ocean Race. Race and Weather Briefing, 6pm on Friday 23 September. Compulsory attendance by at least one person.

2016 George Law Race – Wrap Up

With a light day forecast for the season opener the George Law Race, also being the first of the Beneteau Offshore Series, Race Control sensibly decided on the heavy weather course which kept all yachts inside the Cockburn sound area and avoid the real possibility of yachts drifting out the back of Rottnest until all hours.

FSC Meet the Champions Evening

The inaugural “Meet the Champions” night at FSC was put in place to celebrate the achievements and to thank the people who got on board via the YDF at the beginning to make this happen. Each of the FSC World Champion Sailors were awarded a personal watch with a unique “number” embroidered on the band in the order of the date they became an FSC World Champion from the Academy’s inception.
