The last of FSC Success Cup races provide much variety on the water over the two days and certainly made for some interesting and intense sailing. A light day forecast for the Saturday and the turning weather on Sunday, RO requested a weather briefing prior to the returning race to inform all of what was expected.

The day starts early and ends late for many of the Sparkman and Stephens 34’s that are brought down the river to join their Fremantle Sailing Club sister ships for the Annual FSC/S&S34 Assoc Commodores Cup Perpetual Trophy Race.
Forecasting done! Boat prep done! Provisioning done! Crews sorted done! TB Trackers on! All that was left was for the 20 yachts competing in this year’s West Coaster held by FSC was to get to the start line and pit whits against tactics and lack of sleep for the next 140Nm to Lancelin and return and what I would refer to as a short – long race.
After bad weather last October forced the originally scheduled race to be cancelled, the Ken Cook Trophy was resailed on Saturday in a good (though fluky) south-easterly breeze.
