Began sailing in the early 2000’s with the construction of Elevationa a Buizen 48 Elevation was launched in February 2007 and sailed from Pittwater to Fremantle via Bass Strait and the Southern Ocean.
Challenging conditions faced the FSC inshore fleet for the final race of the winter series last Saturday. The twenty-nine strong fleet left the club in calm conditions under blue skies but the weather on the course oscillated between five knots in the sunshine and over twenty-five knots (with stinging rain and rainbows) under the clouds.
The FSC Dive Section will this year put on live demonstrations of diving with the hard hat system at the annual Shinju Matsuri (festival of the pearl) in Broome…

Thirteen boats raced in race six of the FSC Inshore Winter Series last Saturday. Predictions of stormy weather made earlier in the week may’ve kept the numbers low but on the day the conditions were good for sailing with 20 knots of nor’westerley wind (gusting to just under 30 knots).
On Tuesday evening, Fremantle Sailing Club had the privilege of hosting an inspirational presentation by Lisa Blair, first woman to sail solo around Antarctica!
