Monday, 14 January 2019 @ 9:00 am - Saturday, 19 January 2019 @ 2:00 pm

FREMANTLE SAILING CLUB | Kitefoiling Camp 2019

FSC is a strong supporter of Kite Foiling here in WA and kiting in general for that matter.

So much so we are looking to help facilitate the learning and skills of local kiters whilst providing opportunities for them to develop their skills in a safe and fun environment.

So in saying this, FSC with the support of PKR, Action Sports WA, and WA Surf will be running a ‘Experience Foiling’ camp in mid-January (14th – 19th) 2019. Sessions will run 9am -2pm daily during this camp and places are limited (times may change slightly due to weather forecast).

This is targeted towards proficient Twin Tip kiters who are interested in learning how to foil.

Foil and boards will be provided and BYO Kites, harness & helmet.

Cost for this camp is $400pp for 25hours tuition to cover the cost of coaches and on water support.

Contact Thor Schoenhoff (headcoach@fsc.com.au) for registrations and further questions.

Did you know that since 2016, the Fremantle Sailing Club has been running Kitefoil race training as part of its offering of world-class sailing initiatives?

Inspired by the StFYC weekly kite racing initiative, FSC has created a ‘first of its kind’ club training programme for kitefoil racing.

Recognised as a future pathway to performance sailing, the program offers a space for coaches and athletes to co-create new knowledge and techniques in what is a rapidly evolving class.

The program embeds a foundation of timeless sailing principles and processes, with new technology and competency based training formats – to help pave the pathway for the modern day sailor.

This year, FSC kite-foil members won the KiteFoil National Championship in both the Youth and Open divisions, and junior club member Mani Bisschops recently qualified for the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires later this year.

The ‘kiters’ – with their dazzling speeds and genuine enthusiasm are welcome additions to the Club. For more information on how to get involved or to come check it out, please get in contact with the Club.
