Sunday’s Discover Fremantle Sailing Club Open Day was overflowing with guests and members eager to discover and experience all our Club has to offer. We would like to thank all volunteers, members, sponsors and staff that pulled together and made the event a great success.
We would like to welcome all 80 General Members and 30 Probationary Senior Members who registered with the Club yesterday, and we can’t wait to see them utilising all of the great facilities and section activity experiences we provide.
The Dinghy Section saw 150 kids enjoying our try sail and little sinkers experiences inside the safety of our inner harbour, while the North Fremantle Stand Up Surf Shop and Seabreeze Kitesurf School offered expert advice or hands-on experience for anyone interested in giving either a go.
Our Activity Sections demonstrated the versatility of the Club. This included journeying back to the times of hard hat diving, discovering the world of Inshore and Offshore sailing, casting a line for leisure or sport, the art of rope splicing, outstanding member photography, and the sound of traditional Scottish bagpipes.
The Galley Restaurant, Club Bar, and Sunset Deck were a hive of activity, with families enjoying great food, wine tasting, live music, and a kids zone featuring face painting, giant games and the iconic FSC playground.
Upstairs showcased the Club’s amazing function rooms alongside our beautiful and serene Indian Ocean view. Our function team and preferred Club suppliers dressed each function space, highlighting our capacity to accommodate anything from large weddings to corporate events.
Again, we thank everyone who ensured the day was the success it was. We can’t wait to see all our new members as they begin their journey with us!
