Game Fishing Section – Snapper Competition

After three attempts last year to hold the Game Fishing Section’s Social Snapper Competition the ‘weather gods’ certainly smiled on all boats and due to that, the fishing was not restricted to Cockburn Sound.

There was nearly a dozen snapper caught over the two days, which wasn’t a bad result considering the poor ‘bite indicator’ (16%)  on Saturday. This rose to 67% on Sunday and interestingly, the biggest fish were caught on that day.

Results

Confirmation of the results and the presentation of prizes will all be revealed on September 2^nd (the First Thursday of the month) at 7.30pm in the Ward room.  There will be an open bar and a few nibblies.  Please come down early (6.00pm) and share a meal and some fishing ‘waffle’ in the Club Restaurant.

It is hoped that all will attend to congratulate the winners and carry on with stories of the ‘ones that got away, or, should have been caught’.

It has been decided to extend the opportunity to everyone who competed to submit any photos of fish, or fishing related subjects, until this coming Friday 20^th August.  Please send your entries to jmcramer@outlook.com.au

I have a couple of ‘unknown’ entries as a teaser to what is already in the mix to win a prize. Once received, all photo entries will be numbered and presented to two independent non-fishing persons to judge.  The best two photos winning prizes donated through our sponsors Wilson Marine, Halco Tackle and the FSCGFSec.
