Introducing …. THE 3-PORTS RACE

Fremantle Sailing Club Offshore Section is delighted to announce the launch of its new Blue Water/Siska Series race, the 3-Ports Race on Saturday 20 January 2018.

The Race is sponsored by Anthony & Michelle Kirke’s “Captain’s Heritage Cottages”, starts at 0930, goes south to a virtual mark off Port Bouvard, then north to another VM off Yanchep via Cape Vlamingh, finishing at Fremantle. At 130nm, it is expected that most yachts will finish on Sunday morning.

The race is part of the Success Cup, ORWA Blue Water/Siska Trophy Series and the new COSOL Double-Handed Series. The Safety standard is Cat 3 plus PLBs, which is the minimum standard adopted by ORWA for overnight races. PLBs can be hired at a reasonable cost from epirbhire.com.au.

The entry fee for all entrants is $150 and the race will feature YB Trackers. Early Bird entries have closed on Monday 8 January, however the final close off date is Monday 15 January.

The Briefing is at FSC in the Bridge Room, on Thursday 18 January 2018 at 1830, and will include information on the SSI’s and weather.

Prizes from Boating Hardware, will be included in the ‘goodie bags’ for all competing boats at the briefing night, as well as the announcement of the Early Bird prize.

Pre-Race Breakfast Rolls on the barbie will be available at the club from 0730 on the Saturday.

Presentations and results will be on Tuesday 23 January at FSC.
