The Big Beach Cleanup with Tangaroa Blue, the national marine debris organisation, held on Saturday 19 May, we had about 30 members participated on the day at Jervoise Bay Sailing Club.

There was a lot less trash than in previous years which is good news for Jervoise bay.

The divers at the Ammo Jetty collected less than 8kg and overall less than 20kg of debris was picked up, entered on the data sheets and disposed of by the Parks and Wildlife department.

The bad news is that 280 cigarette butts were collected on the Jetty. However, more good news – no more plastic straws at FSC – we will be providing paper straws.
