The Duty Officers attend the Club on a weekend roster basis (usually on about a six week rotation) to provide a friendly presence in the Club, and to offer a point of contact to members and visitors when the full time staff are not present.
Matters requiring the attention of the Harbour Master, or other FSC staff can generally be handled by Duty Officer contact with the appropriate person.
Roster hours are 1pm to 5pm on a Saturday and 11am to 4pm on a Sunday.
Duty Officers are also in attendance on special Club events such as Opening Day, Regattas, Open Day and Melbourne Cup Lunch. The Duty Officers also organise and manage the Children’s Christmas Party each year.
As well as assisting members and visitors, the Duty Officers also ensure that Club rules are followed and an appropriate standard of dress and behaviour is observed on the premises.
Duty Officer Section meetings are held on a bi-monthly basis at 11am in the Boardroom on a Sunday.
