The Fremantle Sailing Club’s Game Fishing Section is one of the State’s leading Game Fishing Clubs, and has a wide range of activities to cater for this exciting sport.
Snapper Fishing Comp
This competition will be according to the weather conditions in September and a date to be decided. This will be followed by a rigging night so we can all come home with a good catch hopefully. This comp will be in conjunction with other sections of the Club, so get your gear out and let’s show them how to catch fish.
This competition will be run in November, this will be at the Rottnest Trench again date to be decided. This will only be after a full rigging and study of these mighty fish. FSC will share this comp with PGFC so let’s hope for a good turnout.
The Diverse Engineering Blue Marlin Classic
This event has been held over to the Labour Day long weekend of 4, 5 and 6 March 2017. This will be the Section’s 38th Blue Marlin Classic. The Classic’s Winning Team will earn an invite to fish the World Championship in Costa Rica in 2018. The Interclub is now incorporated in the Blue Marlin Classic. Teams need to nominate the Club they will represent and the aggregated points from the top two Teams will be declared the Winner. Their names will be engraved on the Perpetual Trophy that is displayed at the Club.
The Section meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7:30pm in the Bridge. All Members are welcome, food, drinks and a film dedicated to pelagic fishing follows the meeting. For further details regarding Meetings and Competitions contact the Game Fishing Captain Graeme Allen on 0413 202 262.
